Unbelievable!
You know, had you bet me a month ago that the spastic stylings of the goofily-named The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza would trounce the sludge supergroup Old Man Gloom, I would've taken that wager. On paper, giving NO the nod was a no-brainer. It's the spiritual love child of Isis's Wavering Radiant, but noisier and more bile.
So what happened? This. Danza IV exceeds NO's dark anger and its cacophony. At the same time, Danza IV has the same flaw as the Old Man Gloom album: momentum-sapping interludes... just, fewer of them. Well played, TDTE!
Tomorrow, we've got a proggy showdown, with Chimp Spanner and The Faceless.
